Fighting for our local NHS
The NHS is Labour’s proudest creation. The Conservatives repeatedly voted against its creation back in 1943 and are still running it down.
In our area we have seen many operations, including cancer ops, cancelled, ambulances turn up late, hospitals full and GP appointments hard to come by.
We have a fantastic asset in our area in Loughborough Hospital. However, only a fraction of its beds are being used.
Funding of our NHS has been way short of where it needs to be, and while nurses used to receive bursaries they now pay massive tuition fees. It is no wonder there are now staff shortages.
I am campaigning to get more facilities and beds reopened at Loughborough Hospital: please sign my petition here.
